Alamos Golf Course

Alamos is one of the Algarve's best-kept secrets, a shorter but surprisingly demanding par-71 course that opened in 2006 on a sprawling 980-hectare estate north of Portimao. What makes this course special is its character—it's more forgiving off the tee than its famous sister course Morgado, yet its real battleground is the greens. These are large, elaborately undulating surfaces, often raised above the fairway, creating a putting puzzle that demands precision from every golfer in your group. The back nine meanders through rolling valleys with strategically placed bunkers that reward accuracy over distance.

The setting is pure Algarve magic. Playing here feels like you've escaped civilization entirely—sweeping views of the Serra de Monchique mountains, shimmering lakes, and working farmland create a sense of peacefulness that's genuinely restorative. The course is quieter and less crowded than Morgado, which means your group gets a more intimate experience. The facilities are excellent. A full-service clubhouse with a quality restaurant, driving range, short-game areas, and a practice green give your group everything needed to warm up properly.
