Renovated by Coore & Crenshaw and co-founded by Phil Friedmann and Mike Keiser, Sheep Ranch was for many years a mysterious golf landscape just north of Bandon Dunes Golf Resort. Now with one mile of ocean frontage, nine green sites right along the edge of the continent, and stunning Pacific Ocean views on every hole, Sheep Ranch continues the legacy of "Golf As It Was Meant to Be" on the Pacific Coast. Spread across an open, windswept plateau, nine holes now touch the cliff edge along the Pacific Ocean. Extremely wide fairways, large putting surfaces and sandless bunkers allow the exposed course to be playable in extreme winds. The routing is unique with tees and greens clustered in spots while playing in and away from different angles, which allowed designers to maximize the number of holes on the ocean. This is a links-style escape where the natural drama of the landscape dominates every shot, demanding both technical precision and mental toughness as the wind can shift radically throughout the day.
